STUDENTS
CAOS takes research students under two categories, namely, M.Sc. (Engg.)
and Ph.D. For the M. Sc. (Engg.) programme, students with Bachelors
degree in any branch of Engineering or Master of Science degree in
any branch of Science can apply.
Exposure to Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics and/or Mathematics is
desirable. The selection is based on an interview, and to be called
for the interview, passing a national examination such as GATE, CSIR/UGC
JRF or the entrance examination conducted by IISc - Indian Institute
of Science is necessary.
For the Ph.D. programme, students with M. E./M. Tech. in any branch
of Science/Engineering are considered and the selection is based on
an interview.
Those admitted under M.Sc. (Engg.) with good performance in the
first year course work can also join the Ph.D. programme.
The advertisement announcing the research admissions
is made in the national news papers in the last week of January and
the first week of February.
The information is also made available on the IISc - Indian Institute of Science web page.
The interviews are held in June and the results are made known in
the following week.
