(August 2012) A warm welcome to the new CAOS M.Tech, M.Sc. and PhD students! We are fortunate to have a large group of
enthusiastic students from various universities all over India, who have been selected and have
joined us this year.
(March 2012) Conference on Mixing and Turbulence in the Bay of Bengal.
(January 2012) Prof. Mike Wallace from the University of Washington, Seattle visited the Centre as part of
the Institute centenary lecture series.
(June 2010) We are pleased to welcome Prof. Raghu Murtugudde and Dr. Anil V. Kulkarni to CAOS and the Divecha Centre.
These two distinguished scientists will be in
residence at the Centre for an extended period. Dr. Murtugudde is a Professor
in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science as well as the Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center (ESIC)
at the University of Maryland. Dr. A.V. Kulkarni, an expert on Himalayan glaciers, is a Distinguished Visiting Scientist at IISc. He
was affiliated with ISRO's
Space Applications Centre (SAC) in Ahemedabad.
CAOS with support from the Divecha Centre will host a summer school on Predictability of Weather and
Climate. The duration of the school is two weeks, starting on May 17, 2010.
The instructor for the course is Dr. V. Krishnamurthy of the Center for Ocean-Land-Atmosphere Studies (COLA) and the
Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Earth Sciences,
