Grid Analysis and Display System (GrADS) is an interactive desktop tool
that is currently in use worldwide for the analysis and display of earth
science data. GrADS is implemented on all commonly available UNIX workstations,
Apple Macintosh, and DOS or Linux based PCs, and
is freely distributed over the Internet via anonymous ftp. GrADS provides an integrated environment for access, manipulation, and display of earth science data.
Ferret is an interactive computer visualization and analysis nvironment
designed to meet the needs of oceanographers and meteorologists analyzing
large and complex gridded data sets. It runs on most Unix systems, and
on Windows NT/9x using X windows for display. It can be installed
to run from a Web browser ("WebFerret") for use while away from your desk
or from a system lacking X windows software.
