Indian Ocean Model based on (MOM4p0) Modular Ocean Model (GFDL)


Sea surface temperature anomalies for the month of October 2006 simulated by an Indian Ocean model (Kurian and Vinayachandran, JGR, 2007) based on GFDL MOM4p0 (left panel) compared to observations (right panel). The model has a horizontal resolution of about 25km and 40 verttical levels. The simulation shown here are forced using QSCAT winds (Vinayachandran et al., GRL, 2007). Outputs from this simulation are available on request.

Indian Ocean Model based on (ROMS) Regional Ocean Modeling System (Rutgers)


Sea surface temperature from an Indian Ocean model based on ROMS (left panel) compared with the TMI SST (right panel) for 03 August 1999. The model has a horizontal resolution of about 10km in the horizontal and 40 vertical levels. Other model set-up and configuration are the same as in Vinayachandran and Francis (2011)
